Do you accept materials donations?

Yes, we will accept donations of construction materials as well as tools and equipment. Please see our donation page to learn more.

Do you deploy to other states?

Not at this time. With the great need in Oklahoma due to the number of disasters we face, we stay busy year-round right here.

We serve all 77 counties across the state of Oklahoma.

How do I get help repairing my home?

We work alongside the disaster case management process. All disaster survivors we serve come through one of the case management agencies in the state. If your home sustained damages the best way to enter the process is to report your damages with: Oklahoma Emergency Management, FEMA, or your County Emergency Manager.

What are the four phases of a disaster?

Preparation â the work necessary to prepare your family, home, and business with a plan to protect life and belongings should you be impacted by a disaster. Response â the immediate time from a disaster to several weeks beyond, serving the immediate needs of each disaster survivor including food, shelter, debris cleanup, roof tarps, and mucking out the home. Recovery â begins weeks to months after a disaster when long-term recovery committees have been formed and homes are repaired. Mitigation â the work necessary to minimize the damages that your home and belongings could sustain in a disaster, such as purchasing flood insurance, elevating structures, and replacing roofs.

What is the difference between Declared vs Non-Declared Disasters?

Most disasters in Oklahoma are small and do not reach the size and scale necessary for help beyond what the state can provide, meaning they are 'non-declared' by a presidential disaster declaration. A 'declared' disaster means the size and scale of the disaster has reached beyond the state's ability to respond and recover without outside help. Through a presidential disaster declaration, the federal government's assistance through FEMA and/or SBA becomes available.

What is the difference between FEMA's Individual Assistance and Public Assistance?

Individual Assistance is provided by FEMA directly to eligible individuals and families who have sustained losses due to disasters. Public Assistance is provided to state and local governments as reimbursement for emergency protective measures due to disaster-related damages.

Recovering Oklahomans After Disaster “ROAD” has two primary needs in order to fulfill our mission serving disaster surviving families in need of home repairs. First are Volunteers. This is the backbone of the services we offer enabling us to provide all of the home repairs free of charge. Our Project Managers will provide the tools, materials, and training to make every volunteer successful. Second are Donors. Oklahoma is always in a stage of disaster response or recovery so our services are statewide and year round. Your financial support keeps families on the ROAD to recovery.

ROAD serves disaster survivors through the disaster case management process. When a disaster survivor has been vetted and determined to have home repair needs they can not meet on their own, they are then served through the free services we offer.
